Unique Designs
The Collectionist creates small collections with unique pieces crafted from high quality of materials. Only a limited quantity has been made; it has not been mass-produced.
Slow fashion approach
All the items are handcrafted by myself using traditional skills and techniques.
I am Patricia, originally from Chile where I used to work as a Building engineer. In 2008, I decided to take a year off from work and travel around Europe. I stablished in London where I found it was the perfect place to nourish my anger for art. In the seeking of finding myself, I thought the perfect transition between what I used to work and what I want to do in the future was to do my postgraduate in Conservation of old buildings in the Architectural Association as it blended Engineering, history and art. When I finished my studies, I started to work in a historic fort in the south of England which until I found out I was going to be a mum which was one of my dreams. So having my baby in a pandemia era, I started to work from home in a very small scale, I was knitting and sewing garments for friends putting in practice everything my grand ma thought me in my early years.
It was like that how The Collectionist was born, in the looking of finding what was really make happy. And the conclusion is to create beauty and comfort for women, having as a main inspiration the vintage aesthetic.
Each garment I create is made at my home workshop, with The Collectionist quirkiness at its heart.
